Early Years Pupil Premium
Rachel McMillan Nursery School and Children’s Centre
Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is extra funding that aims to improve outcomes for 3 and 4 year olds, in vulnerable circumstances, who are also receiving the entitlement to free education in nursery.
It has been put in place by the Government to support children, minimising the difference in attainment between children in receipt of EYPP and those that are not. Children who meet the criteria will be eligible for an extra £302 funding per year whilst at nursery school. The funding enables schools to provide focussed work to support children’s development.
How we use the money.
At Rachel McMillan Nursery school, we evaluate yearly, the areas of learning where support for children in receipt of EYPP needs to be best focussed. We use this money to make a difference through additional staff, staff training, resources, expeditions and projects which support the children’s development and progress, unified within our play based curriculum, ethos of outdoor learning and community integration.
(Please see ‘EYPP Action Plan’ as to how the money is used each year).
